Propel® Announces Enhancements to Propel® Accelerator™
Propel Accelerator 6.1 Enhances Connection Optimization and Adds Support for Firefox to its Award-Winning Internet Acceleration Software
ORLANDO, Fla. (ISPCON, Booth #507), May 23, 2007 - Propel Software Corporation (www.propel.com), a market leader in Internet acceleration solutions, today announced significant improvements to Propel Accelerator 6, the company’s award-winning Internet acceleration product.
Propel Accelerator 6.1 allows both wireless and wired broadband service providers to provide a markedly faster Internet experience to their customers on all types of connections where speed is an issue. Target markets include users of lower-speed wired and wireless broadband (<1 Mbps), satellite, wireless mobile data, dial-up, and 802.11 hotspot connections.
Enhancements to the product include:
- Improved Compression: Dramatic compression improvements for HTTP and POP3 uploads and downloads take acceleration to new levels and provide better performance than competing solutions, resulting in a typical saving range from 70% -90%. The compressed data allows wireless broadband providers to support more subscribers on their networks, and it also benefits wired providers by enhancing network throughput and efficiency.
- Connection Optimization: With Propel Accelerator 6.1, Propel has tuned its proprietary connection optimization for improved performance on higher speed and wireless connections, while maintaining performance for dial-up and lower speed customers.
- Improved Mozilla Firefox Support: Propel Accelerator 6.1 eliminates the need for users to manually change the proxy settings in Firefox to access Propel Accelerator. In addition, Firefox users can now view the original quality, uncompressed images through the right-click menu, a feature previously only available in Internet Explorer.
- Dynamic Imaging: Dynamic Imaging enables browsers to quickly build usable versions of Web pages by first loading lower-quality preview images and then filling in details as they become available. This results in a much faster, improved browsing experience. With Propel Accelerator 6.1, pages typically load three to seven times faster, and can sometimes load 25 times faster, or more.
- Enhanced Vista Compatibility: Vista users now enjoy enhanced compatibility with Propel Accelerator 6.1.
