Propel Software Launches Propel Accelerator 5.1 -
Delivers Superior Speed and Image Quality
Increased server capacity lowers total cost of ownership to ISPs
BALTIMORE, Md., ISPCON Spring 2005, Booth #104, May 24, 2005 - Propel® Software Corporation (www.propel.com), a global market leader in Internet acceleration solutions, today announced Propel Accelerator 5.1. Using a proprietary compression algorithm, Propel Accelerator 5.1 adds new features, increased speed and expanded server capacity.
Propel Accelerator 5.1 features the optimal balance of speed and image quality, with improved image compression for smaller, faster and sharper images. ISPs can take advantage of this improved speed without compromising quality. In addition, a significant feature in Propel Accelerator 5.1 is increased server capacity that provides three to five times as many subscribers per server as compared to the competition. This is an important attribute for ISPs who must keep the total cost of ownership (TCO) to a minimum while servicing a growing number of subscribers.
"Propel Accelerator 5.1 provides ISPs and wireless carriers with a compelling way to differentiate their services, drive growth of new subscribers and add a new revenue source," said David Fannin, Propel president and CEO. "With a reach of more than 35 million users in over 30 countries, Propel Accelerator assists ISPs to deliver the best product to their wireless mobile data, low-speed broadband and dial-up subscribers. This results in building brand loyalty and reducing costly customer churn."
Available in June 2005, acceleration and image quality features in Propel Accelerator 5.1 will be integrated into all of Propel's acceleration products.
At ISPCON, Propel Software Executive Vice President David Murray will participate in a roundtable discussion entitled "How Wireless and Low Speed Broadband Providers Benefit from Acceleration." The roundtable will take place on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:00 P.M. Moderated by Hal Schlenger, senior product manager for EarthLink, panelists include Tanya Miller, CenturyTel, Jose Papa Neto, IG Brazil, and John Marker, Advanced Cellular Communications Corporation.
