Introduction - Letter to Reviewers from Steve Kirsch
Thank you for taking the time to review and test Propel Accelerator. Propel is addressing the number one frustration for millions of people accessing the web over low-speed Internet connections - the need for speed.
As I think any of us high-speed broadband users would attest to, the difference between low-speed Internet access and true high-speed broadband is vast. Having said that, broadband has a few significant obstacles to widespread and immediate adoption. Cost. Availability. Change of behavior.
In the meantime, Propel is solving the core problem with dial-up service by offering a web acceleration solution directly to consumers, and providing enabling technology for ISPs to bundle acceleration with Internet Access service. Propel's technology benefits all low-speed Internet access technologies such as: cellular and fixed wireless, dial-up, ISDL, satellite, ISDN, ADSL, cable, and WiFi. The ability to offer a value added service and to reduce customer churn, is of huge value to ISPs. With a customer list that's growing almost daily to include ISPs like EarthLink, network service providers, and modem manufacturers such as U.S. Robotics, we're seeing the need for acceleration of low-speed Internet connections validated from the entire spectrum of service providers and hardware manufacturers.
We thank you for taking the time to review Propel Accelerator. We've designed this guide to describe how we think dial-up web accelerators should be evaluated. Although the customer experience is simple, a detailed evaluation of web accelerators can be complex, and unless you are aware of the potential pit falls, you may arrive at erroneous conclusions. If at any time you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to learning about your findings.
Sincerely,
Steve Kirsch
